Kinderball

What’s "Kinderball?"
Fun, exercise and learning. A program where Kindergarten girls and boys (born on or after August 1, 2001) play soccer in an instructional environment with kids of similar age and ability.

Why soccer?
Soccer keeps kids active. No standing around, no huddles, lines or waiting for a turn at bat. Soccer gets the heart pumping, burns calories and develops gross motor skills. And most important: Soccer is fun!

Who will coach these teams?
Parents! As one of the coaches, you will quickly learn a few fun games and activities to get the ball rolling. You don’t have to be a soccer star or even have played the game in order to be a great coach. All you need is enthusiasm and the desire to have some fun!

What is the philosophy of Kinderball?
Early elementary school children should enjoy a healthy dose of exercise in a nurturing and supportive atmosphere where success is measured in smiles, not wins or losses. Teams practices revolve around fun games and activities that will enhance basic soccer skills, sportsmanship and teamwork.

What is the league's schedule?
Leagues are held in the spring and fall each year. New teams are formed each season. The spring session starts in early to mid-April and the fall league starts in mid-September. Games are played Saturday mornings. Teams generally hold practice Monday evenings, however coaches may decide to practice another evening during the week.

Is financial assistance available?
Financial and minority scholarships are available. Learn more.

How do I register my child?
Download the In-House Team Registration Packet for details of the Fall 08 / Spring 09 season.

What's included with the registration?
Registration fees includes a uniform, soccer ball and trophy. Parents must supply shin guards for their child. Soccer shoes are highly recommended, tennis shoes are acceptable. Baseball shoes with square cleats are not allowed.
